October Sketches at SSW2

Hi there, and welcome to our latest challenge. Kelly here with you as hostess for this month. Southern Alberta is enjoying some lovely fall weather right now, and I will thoroughly enjoy it before the snow flies because I am sure it is right around the corner:-)

We want to send a big thank you to everyone who joined us for our September challenge. We will be back again with another post announcing the winner, but in the meantime, we hope that you all had a wonderful September and are ready with your crafting shoes on for this month's sketches!

We have two new sketches for you this month, and a twist for the retro sketch.

You can enter up to three projects per month, so why not try the new sketches and a retro sketch? We would love to see your entries.

Here are the sketches from Kathie for October.

Sketch #336

Sketch #337

And for the retro sketch this month, I thought random.org was a great way to select a sketch so I did the same as Anne did last month- asked the random number generator to pick me a number between 1 and 300 and here is the result.

Sketch 223 was in February 2022. Here's a link so you can see the original inspiration from the DT, and be sure to check out the great entries as well for further inspiration.

Sketch #223

As always, any of our sketches can be turned and/or flipped-just as long as we can see the original sketch in your card.

First up some inspiration from our Guest Designer

August Winner

Hello and welcome to our winners post for the August challenge. Our entries were really low so we only have a winner and no top picks this month. Hopefully it will get better and we will have more entries soon, I can't help but wonder if it is because the Blogger Reading list has been playing up recently.

Our winner for August is entry #2 Majda with this card

Congratulations

Please email anne_ssw2@aol.co.uk to arrange a guest designer slot.

We will be back on the 7th of October with our next challenge.

I'm sorry, but I found it hard to make a decision for our Top 3, so I've gone with a Top 5 instead. I know we haven't got enough entries, but honestly I couldn't make up my mind. So please take our Top 5 badge and display it proudly on your blogs.

Top 5

In entry order:

#2 Wises

Such a cute image, and the sketch was executed perfectly.

#3 Darlene

Beautiful colour combo and stunning design papers, and a matching envelope.

#8 Urska

This is such a lovely feminine 60th birthday card.  Your colours are lovely, Urska; they are so delicate.

#15 Nat

I just love the colours and design papers; they blend together beautifully, and your embellishments are so perfect.

#18 Pat

This is such a pretty card; the design papers are lovely, and Pat finished her card off with this cute daisy, exactly the same as my sketch.

I'm so looking forward to seeing what you all create this month with our two new sketches.  Don't forget you can go into the archives and pick a sketch which has an #8 in it, as there are plenty to choose from.

Hugs, Kathie, Anne and Kelly

JULY CHALLENGE

Good morning and welcome back to Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2!  We're happy to have you join us for July- yes, July already. We are over halfway through the year.

Hi, it's Kathie here this month, from New Zealand.  At this time of year in the Southern Hemisphere, it's winter, and I woke up to 2 Degrees Celsius.  For me, that's cold. I have a friend living in the South Island of New Zealand in Queenstown, a stunning part of our country where parts of The Lord of the Rings were filmed.  She woke to 0 this morning, to a beautiful day, but won't get any warmer than 6 Celsius.

I would like to thank everyone who had the time to answer Anne's questions about our Challenge Blog last month.  We'll be sitting down and having a team talk via Messenger about what and if we make any changes to our challenge.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our June sketches.  Be sure to join us again on the 15th July to see who our winner is.

So, onto our July sketches. Remember, you can enter up to 3 projects per month, and luckily, we have 2 fab new sketches and a retro sketch to choose from.

July Sketches:

Sketch # 331

And here is our fun retro sketch #165 from 7th August 2019 and  28th December 2019.  Please follow the links for inspiration from our wonderful design team back then.

Here's my card back then.

Now, with this month's inspiration from the Design Team.

***A reminder that one of our rules is to include the sketch that you used on your entry.  This helps you be eligible as the winner or in the Top 3 or 5, and it also promotes Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 to other crafters who read your blog, and if you enter other Challenges, others see your entry and might love the sketch you've used and wonder where you got your idea from.  Thank you for helping us***
