Digi Stamp Boutique and a Square Sketch 61

Image result for winchester cathedral jane austen

The warmest of Wednesday welcomes to the Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 blog.

We are always so pleased that you  choose to visit and enter our challenges.

It's Anne here as your hostess this week and today in the UK it is St Swithin's Day.
St Swithin was a saxon bishop of Winchester and legend has it that as he lay on his deathbed he asked to be buried out of doors where he would be trodden on and rained on. For 9  years his wishes were followed but then the monks of Winchester attempted to remove his remains to a splendid shrine  inside the cathedral on 15th July 971.
According to legend there was a heavy rain storm during the ceremony and this led to the old wives tale that if it rains on St Swithin's Day it will rain for the next 40 days in succession and  a fine 15th July will be followed by 40 days of fine weather.
It's forecast to be fine today and wet tomorrow so I think that proves what an old wives tale it is but I hope you found my little story interesting.

So now onto what you are all really visiting for.

We had some lovely entries last week and the winner of the prize from Fresh Brewed Designs is

#15  Janice!!

Please e mail Sally to claim your prize and don't forget to pick up your winners badge from the sidebar.

Congratulations as well to our top 3:

There's a badge for you too - be sure to grab it!

Sally has created another great sketch for us this week

and this week we are using the images from our regular third Wednesday sponsor

Sally-Ann at

Digi Stamp Boutique

All images/designs are created and copyright owned by Sally-Ann Hancock.  My work means the world to me - it allows my passion to draw and create, to fit with my family life too, often the inspiration for my designs.  Hope you enjoy my images as much as I enjoy creating them.

Sally-Ann very generously has donated a prize of a £10.00 voucher.

We all love to create with Digi Stamp Boutique images and here's what the team created this week...

Judi GDT using Kimono Pip

Kathie using Edwin and Flowers

Sharon using Summer Chubby Set

Linda using Cute Reindeer set

Heide using Music Lulu

Joanna using Cluck Cluck Set

Anne using Race Tom

We hope these samples inspire you to create and join in our challenge this week. The rules for playing along can be found by clicking the CHALLENGE RULES tab at the top of the page.

Just remember to comment on this post to be eligible to win.  Also...  check us out on Facebook, we feature a few cards from our challenge participants each week and preview the new sketch every Tuesday.

  5. Wonderful samples from the DT. Love this layout. Thanks for giving the UK history since I find it helpful knowing about the different cultures. Many of the stampers are from different countries so it is helpful to know more about people.
